The spiral motifs depicted on this plate are known as Golden Horn motifs.
The Golden Horn has been one of the most important historical symbols since the Byzantine Empire. This significant body of water is located in Istanbul, Turkey, previously known as Constantinople. The myth is that the water itself glows golden when the sun reflects off its surface. The plate also features motifs of red violets, symbolizing nobility, dignity and intuition. You can choose to have, “God Bless Our Family”, “God Bless Our Home”, or “Lord, bless this home & all who enter” hand written in the center of your plate.
Description
This plate can either be hung on a wall or set on a counter. It comes with a complimentary metal wall plate hanger. There is also a hole on the back of the plate for hanging on the wall if desired.
This plate is hand pressed. Later, drawings and motifs are painted with a brush. The text is hand written with a brush. The plate is 10 inches in diameter.
After it is all set, the piece is glazed with non-toxic and lead-free solution and fired at around 1920 F degrees (1050 C degrees).
Please understand that all our products are lovingly and completely made by hand, and there might be size and color differentiations. Our artisans do not use a template to paint this product. This makes each item unique and beautiful on its own.
This product is made in Kutahya, Turkey and later shipped to Mendon, Massachusetts for assembling and packaging.
Kutahya, known in ancient times as Cotyaeum, is a Turkish city located in the western part of the country. It has long been famous for its pottery and ceramics, with production dating back to the 15th century.
